Bookkeeper
BCMB is looking for a skilled and passionate person to join our team. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic to contribute and support the work of resourcing our BCMB churches. As a non-profit organization, BCMB is looking for a bookkeeper who is experienced with non-profit bookkeeping and accounting principles. This position is ideally suited for someone who is multi-talented, very organized, detail oriented, motivated self-starter, with a servant heart and a love for our churches.
Qualifications
- Certificate/diploma in Accounting or Bookkeeping an asset.
- 3 years + experience working in a related position.
- Experience with Sage 50 & Excel preferred.
- Able to work independently and in a timely and efficient manner.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- High attention to details and accuracy.
- Aptitude for improving systems and processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Enjoys learning new skills and wants to lend a hand where needed.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Performing basic accounting procedures (such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, time billing, payroll, general ledger, and tax payments).
- Providing information for financial statements (such as monthly and quarterly financial reports, and monthly forecasts summarizing current and projected financial position).
- Reconciling general ledger accounts.
- Communicating with churches regarding insurance and finance resources.
- Providing other accounting assistance and support as requested.
- Liaise with Group Licenses and inventory churches annually for CCLI, etc.
- Keep Church directory current and ready for print annually.

Timeline
Anticipated start time is April 1st but would appreciate earlier start to interface with outgoing bookkeeper.
