Lead Pastor (Full-Time; Flexible 0.8-1.0 FTE)

The Life Centre — Abbotsford, BC

The Life Centre is seeking a Spirit-led, relational, visionary, and strategic lead pastor.
Working in partnership with the Spiritual Leadership Team (SLT), the Lead Pastor will shepherd the congregation, discern and communicate God’s vision for TLC, provide oversight to staff and lay leader ministry teams, with the goal of equipping the church body to live out Christ’s mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Shepherd an intentionally intercultural & intergenerational church
  • Model loving, authentic care for the congregation while nurturing an environment of ongoing pastoral support
  • Provide strategic leadership and advance the mission of The Life Centre, in collaboration with the Spiritual Leadership Team
  • Oversee the preaching and teaching ministries of the church by establishing a preaching team and serving as a regular speaker
  • Lead, mentor, and oversee ministry staff and lay leaders.
  • Foster unity, spiritual maturity, and engagement across generations and cultures.
Qualifications
  • Spiritual Vitality: Models a vibrant, growing relationship with Jesus Christ demonstrating a life marked by integrity, generosity and faithfulness
  • Pastoral Vitality: Demonstrates a pastoral, shepherding heart demonstrated by deep care for others.
  • Communication Vitality: Effectively communicates vision and direction and ensures regular preaching and teaching through a preaching team model.
  • Leadership Vitality: Equips others, creating healthy teams, and models servant-hearted, collaborative leadership within a multi-cultural context.
  • Education: Masters (or equivalent) degree in theological/Biblical studies preferred
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in church ministry in a leadership role preferred.
Theological & Denominational Alignment
  • Affirms the authority and trustworthiness of Scripture.
  • Adheres to the Mennonite Brethren Confession of Faith, The Life Centre’s Beliefs and Core Values.
  • Credentialed, or eligible for credentialing, with the BC Mennonite Brethren (BCMB) Conference.
Legal Requirements
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check required
