Responsibilities:

Youth and Young Adults

  • Oversee the spiritual health of all areas of Youth and Young Adult Ministries.
  • Build Christ-centered relationships with Youth and Young Adults.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a community of Ministry Leaders and build sustainable teams and programs to support the range of Youth and Young Adult Ministry programs provided by the church.
  • Create environments that are engaging and enriching for Youth and Young Adults.
  • Develop and lead outreach activities targeted to Whistler Youth and Young Adults.
  • Explore mission opportunities for Youth and Young Adults.
  • Ensure a seamless transition between Youth and Young Adults, providing support to students who go away to university.

Parent Equipping

Transitions

  • Work with the Sunday School Team to ensure there is a smooth transition from Sunday School into the Youth program.
  • Explore the possibility of expanding youth to include students in grades 6-8.

Duties and Responsibilities

  Spiritual Direction and Leadership

  • Model the heart of a Pastor committed to caring for the people of KGF, and passionate about reaching the lost people of the Okanagan and the world for Christ.
  • Provide spiritual mentorship to the Associate Pastors and staff.
  • Personally seek God and model a life of godliness through regular prayer, consistent study of the Scriptures, and active evangelism, encouraging staff and volunteers to do the same.
  • Promote spiritual unity within all areas of KGF.
  • The Lead Pastor, in partnership with the Church Board, serves as a guardian of the faith, ensuring that the church remains aligned with the beliefs and practices of the BCMB.

  Teaching and Preaching

  • Be the primary preacher/teacher of KGF and ensure that the preaching teams' teaching is in alignment with the theology and overall vision and purposes of KGF, and that the congregation is challenged, encouraged and inspired to become true followers of Jesus, living lives with understanding and commitment to worship, service, groups, and outreach.
  • Participate in traditional pastoral responsibilities such as spiritual counselling, baptisms, church membership, funerals, and weddings. Oversee the purpose and objectives of weekend services, ensuring that Christ is known and the local body of Christ is united in community.

  Shepherding

  • Demonstrate a genuine love for the people of KGF and a deep desire to see lives transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ. When possible, attend and participate in church-related social events.

  Other Responsibilities

  • Participate, within authorized limits and budget allowances, in educational training, coaching, retreats, and conferences for personal, professional, and spiritual development.
  • Oversee training and contribute to the development of other church staff.
  • Represent the church at community and conference events.
  • Along with the Associate Pastors, proactively analyze current global and local trends (cultural and societal) that have potential impact on the church’s ability to be effective and impactive in the Okanagan and world.
  • Attend all staff meetings, board meetings, congregational meetings and team meetings as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master of Divinity or higher from an accredited evangelical seminary preferred. 
  • A broad range of experience in a mid to large size church or organizational setting, including strategic planning, leading staff and the congregation.
  • An effective and engaging communicator, able to clearly convey vision, truth, and ideas to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively with different teams within KGF, along with strong conflict resolution skills; able to take criticism that may not always be warranted while pursuing unity.
  • A person of vision with a proven track record of spiritual leadership excellence and the ability to empower and inspire staff and congregation to the vision of KGF.
  • A capacity to inspire and enable others to reach their God-given calling and to achieve fruitfulness in their personal lives and ministries.
  • A demonstrated heart for the lost, for the body of Christ and possesses a hunger and thirst for God.
  • Current criminal record check.

  • Spiritually mature Christian who lives and upholds a lifestyle that models an elder of the church as defined by the Scriptures.

  2. Hospitality and Logistics Support. Coordinate hospitality logistics for Sunday gatherings and special events. Manage procurement and delivery of supplies to support the coffee team, communion and hospitality environments. Assist with event preparation and day-of logistics.
  3. Administrative and Communication Support. Manage class and event registrations, including participant communication and follow-ups. Prepare resources and class materials for ministry programs and special events, including gathering supplies, preparing handouts, and assisting with logistics. Support the Executive Administrator with church calendar management, communications, and administrative tasks related to large events, retreats, and leader training. Maintain and update systems such as Planning Center, and support general data entry and database management across administrative platforms.
  4. Team Collaboration. Attend weekly staff meetings and assist ministry leaders by providing logistical and administrative support to help fulfill ministry objectives.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Both written and verbal communication must be clear, professional, and friendly, ensuring effective interaction with church staff, volunteers, and visitor.

Responsibilities:

Executive and Administrative Duties:

  • Financial Responsibility: Manage and assist with church financial tasks, including budgeting, processing invoices, preparation of financial reports and tracking expenses using accounting software.
  • Communication Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for all incoming communications (phone, email, in-person visitors) and respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Greeting and Welcoming: Ensure all individuals entering the building are warmly welcomed and directed to their destination. Create a welcoming atmosphere for visitors, staff, and church members.
  • Church Bookings: Oversee the church building spaces and coordinate facility bookings for church events, meetings, and other activities.
  • Meeting Support: Attend church meetings as needed, take detailed meeting minutes, and provide follow-up on action items. Support the pastoral team in administrative tasks related to meetings.
  • Volunteers: Will be involved in coordinating volunteers for various events or ministry functions as needed.
  • Office Supply Management: Maintain an organized inventory of office and kitchen supplies and order materials as needed to ensure smooth church operations.

Ministry Support:

  • Provide administrative support to youth, adult, and children's ministries, assisting in event planning, coordination, and communication.
  • Collaborate with the Ministry teams to support programs as required.
  • Work closely with the pastoral team to ensure seamless coordination and communication across all ministries, providing the necessary administrative support to help each ministry thrive.
  • Assist with the scheduling and administrative tasks for various ministry events, including Sunday services, midweek activities, and special church programs.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead and supervise the church’s administrative assistant to ensure effective office management and operational efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with the pastoral and ministry staff to provide administrative support as needed.
  • Manage and implement systems for improved ministry workflow and communication across all departments.
  • Reports directly to the Lead Pastor.

Additional Expectations:

  • Attend Sunday services and church events as required, providing administrative support.
  • Help create and maintain a positive, efficient work environment for staff, volunteers, and ministry leaders.
  • Actively participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to support church operations and growth.

Salary & Benefits:

Salary range is $50,000-$60,000 annually and is dependent on:

  • Qualifications

Benefits will commence following a 3-month probation period.
