Humility & Courage
For the past year, we have been leaning into the theme Reimagine How We Lead. This journey culminates at our Annual Convention, where we devote two days to exploring what Christ‑centered leadership looks like today.
We invite you to join us for Elevate, a dedicated day of equipping designed to help our pastors lead with humility, courage, and renewed vision.
Elevate Plenary Speakers
Humility
Mark Wessner, President of MB Seminary
Leadership is not defined by how much power we hold, but by how we choose to use it. The early life of Abram shows how humility releases control, deepens trust in God’s faithfulness, and shapes pastoral leadership.
Mark Wessner Bio
Mark Wessner, President of MB Seminary, has spent decades walking alongside churches and leaders across Canada. He brings a deep love for Scripture, thoughtful theological reflection, and a passion for faithful pastoral leadership.
Finding Courage
Steve Brown, CBC President
Jesus didn’t lead from comfort or caution — He led with courage. Looking to Jesus’ example, we will explore how leaders can find more courage and grow as courage givers in a world that desperately needs hopeful and courageous leadership.
Steve Brown Bio
Dr. Steve Brown lives out his passion to invest in the next generation of Jesus-centered leaders as President of Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford, British Columbia.
Over the last twenty-five years, Steve has invested thousands of hours coaching, teaching, and walking alongside leaders from Canada, the USA, and around the world. He served as President of Arrow Leadership for over a decade, and he’s the author of Jesus-Centered—Focusing on Jesus in a Distracted World, Leading Me—Eight Keys to a Leader’s Most Important Assignment, Great Questions for Leading Well, and his newest book, Finding Courage – A Four Week Devotional Journey was just released in September 2025.
Steve’s been married to Lea for over 25 years and is the proud dad to three young adults. Running, biking, hiking, and traveling are his longtime passions. You can reach him at presidentsoffice@columbiabc.edu
2026 Elevate Breakout Sessions
We’re excited to introduce six breakout session speakers this year—each bringing valuable leadership experience and practical insights to help you grow in your own leadership journey.
Please review the detailed Breakout Session Guide. You’ll be asked to select your preferred sessions during the registration process.
Friday Night Prayer
Following Elevate, we invite you to join us for pizza and an evening of prayer. This gathering is an opportunity to pause, seek God together, and continue to Reimagine How We Lead—with humility, courage, and dependence on Him.
There is no cost to attend, but we ask that you sign up during ticket purchasing so that we can plan for food and venue set-up.
2026 Celebration & AGM
To complete our journey through the theme Reimagine How We Lead, the morning will open with celebrations from our churches and partner organizations, sharing how God has shaped and strengthened their leadership this past year.
After breaking to enjoy lunch and fellowship together, we will go into our Annual General Meeting to discuss the business of our ministry and vote on our recommendations.
